EXID is a girl group that debuted under AB Entertainment on February 16, 2012 with the single "Whoz That Girl". Shortly after debut three original members left, and Solji and Hyelin joined to form the five-member lineup that later moved to Yedang Entertainment (renamed Banana Culture). Their 2014 single "Up & Down" became a sleeper hit after a fan-filmed video of Hani went viral, climbing to number one on the Gaon chart months after release and winning a Golden Disc digital bonsang. After the members' Banana Culture contracts ended in 2019 and 2020, the group returned in 2022 with the self-managed album X.
